Napa & Sonoma Harvest 2012 Trip Recap
12 years ago by Tim
I'm planning a series of posts on specific wineries, but thought it might be fun to start with our itinerary and drill in from there. Those of you who follow @Vinelog on Twitter probably saw a lot of this agenda already.
We didn't take extremely detailed tasting notes, so this will end up being more of a "broad strokes" impression of the wineries and trends and so on as opposed to reviews of specific wines. (I'll try to include what we tasted as much as possible as well).
Saturday in Napa:
- Trefethen
- Mason Cellars
- Grgich Hills (via Wine Train).
Sunday in Stags Leap & Yountville:
- Cliff Lede
- Cornerstone Cellars
- Pine Ridge
- Stags Leap Wine Cellars
- Clos du Val
- Beau Vigne
- Ma(i)sonry (a collective tasting a variety of excellent wineries)
Monday in Sonoma:
Tues in Sonoma:
- Merry Edwards
- Lynmar Estate
- Dutton-Goldfield
- Dutcher Crossing
- Thumbprint
- Topel
Wed in Napa (and evening in Sonoma):
- Chateau Montelena
- Frank Family
- Twomey
- Clos Pegase
- Domaine Chandon
- Two Shepherds (at Sheldon cooperative)
Thurs in Napa:
- Ladera
- Ehlers Estate
- Joseph Phelps
- Hartwell Estate
- Whitehall Lane
- Alpha Omega Winery
Friday was Geyserville & Sonoma.
- Silver Oak
- Preston of Dry Creek
- Mounts
- Garagiste (Cartograph/Stark)
- ... and another taste at Topel
Saturday was our last day, and we did a couple of southern-most wineries before the airport.
- Ram's Gate Winery
- Domaine Carneros
