“A stylish Cabernet.” – Wine Spectator

Oh my, Operatives! Crowd control will be needed when you bust this out at the next gathering. Raymond wines are always faves around these parts, but THIS?!

Next level.

Great history, insane fruit sources, legendary winery leadership and celebrated winemaking talent.

Everybody loves Raymond. Not the show - does anyone actually like that?! The wine, however!? HUGE crowd pleaser.

Especially at OVER 60% OFF!

Not just a huge crowd pleaser, but it's a huge win for us to turn this top-tier effort out for this price. After rolling out a few wines from them recently, we finally got our hands on a 2017 District Collection, for which they blend fruit from sources that power each single-vineyard designate. A rare sight, for sure.

A pioneer dating back to 1970, Raymond now comprises of over 300 acres in Rutherford, St Helena, and Coombsville. They also pull fruit from some of the best Napa vineyards, which make up the black-label District Collection.

Five generations created and evolved this Napa icon. Today, its enduring reputation for elegant and powerful wines is under the highly accomplished hands of Jean-Charles Boisset. Robert Parker once noted “the quality of the wines has soared under Boisset’s helmsmanship. Much to his credit, Raymond Vineyards has returned to the fold as one of the benchmarks, classic estates in all of Napa.”

Credit is also due to winemaking genius Stephanie Putnam who boasts numerous harvests at Far Niente and Hess Collection and innumerable accolades, including Top 100 hits with Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Cabernet of the Year by The Wine News.

This is just the perfect example of a powerful hillside Napa Cabernet. Rich, with concentrated flavors and velvety tannins, it comes correct with deep, dark, rich fruit aromas over leather and lush tobacco. On the palate, ripe cherry, blackcurrants, and espresso play nicely together and linger with a silky, seamless, and lengthy finish. Off the charts aromatics and texture, either savor it now with juicy steaks, or cellar for decades, the rewards are open-ended.

We’re still a bit shocked to have this stunner in our hands. But it won’t be here for long at under $50!

93 Points – Wine Spectator “Polished and ripe, with alluring cassis and mulled plum fruit flavors gliding atop a polished structure, with subtle alder, violet and loam accents filtering through as well. A stylish Cabernet, with some latent depth and grip in reserve. Best from 2021 through 2031. 124 cases made.”
