2020 Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Volnay Premier Cru Taillepieds

The 2020 Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru has a lifted, perfumed bouquet. Touches of dried blood lend this a savory slant. The wine gains more purity with aeration and more Pinot Noir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid red fruit, a fine sense of balance and finer tannins than its peers. It's spicy on the finish with a touch of peppercorns that leaves the mouth tingling after it has departed. The 2020 is molded by the vintage but not dictated by it.
