DEEP COVER: Hot NEW Patrimony!

“In pursuit of excellence, no expense is spared at DAOU. Think of it like a Michelin three-star restaurant: no detail goes unnoticed and no shortcuts are taken.” – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

The sheer OMG factor here cannot be overstated… if you had the 2020 or the 2019 we offered, this one ups both.

And sometimes you wonder if “this wine is worth it” and the answer here is an unequivocal YES. It routinely scores in the 95-100 range. The PREFECT vintage, while just a newborn, is no different with so far a couple of early scores as laid out below, yet who knows how high Jeb or the Enthusiast may go?

Doesn’t matter really, it's PATRIMONY Cab we’re talking about here, scores get meaningless at this level. It's been called “a sensational Cabernet Sauvignon that can stand up the best out there.” One that is “unbelievably ripe, pixelated frame and fantastic juiciness... this is stunning” and “as I’ve said in the past, these wines compete with the best of Napa Valley and are some of the leading Bordeaux blends from Paso Robles” because “there's no one else making Cabernet like this in Paso Robles!”

DAOU’s flagship Patrimony will deconstruct your ideas about the limits of winemaking around the globe, and then reassemble them into an altogether new reference point. At DAOU they spare NO expense. The barrel program uses the absolute best - Taransaud T5 for example is a very pricey option that few producers have the luxury to use.

Like Vinous says, “Napa, Bordeaux, and Cabernet Sauvignon lovers should take note because, while far from inexpensive, these wines still offer tremendous relative value.”

Indulge your senses… who knows what tomorrow brings let alone the next couple of hours!

95-97 Points – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate “The 2021 Patrimony Cabernet Sauvignon, made entirely with free-run juice, will be in 100% new French oak barrels for 30 months. It has an opaque ruby color and pure aromas of blueberry, black cherry, pencil shavings, violet, soy sauce and leather. Full-bodied and powerful, it has a concentrated core of dark fruit, refreshing acidity and a mineral-driven finish.”

96 Points – James Suckling "Dark-fruited and toasted aromas of wild blackberries, tobacco, seaweed and orange zest. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright acidity. It shows notes of bramble berries, leather, graphite and roast meat. Wonderfully balanced and fresh. Drink or hold."
