You’ll recall that over many years this icon sold through mountains of Zinfandel with ease through a devout mailing list. With wines scoring big regularly with publications such as Wine Spectator, and an impeccable track record of literally hundreds of Gold Medals from competitions, they are unrivaled, just like their other acclaimed sister properties: Mazzocco, Matrix, Pezzi King, and Rockpile to name a few.

In the realm of Wilson Zins, a Reserve means “the best of the best” from the oldest vines and intensity turned up to 11, not for the faint of heart. It’s absolutely ravishingly rich, extravagantly full-bodied, and unctuously textured, with notes of blackberry, cassis, barbecue smoke, dried herbs, and a finish that just oozes over the palate with no hard edges. Quintessential Dry Creek Zin, and a remarkable effort at that.
